PATIENT INFORMATION

The Department of Urology at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center is dedicated to clinical care, research and education of diseases affecting the genitourinary tract. A world-class team of faculty physicians has come together to provide the latest diagnostic and therapeutic technologies. Ongoing research by our faculty physicians continues to extend the knowledge base of urology, while developing new, less-invasive forms of therapy. In addition, the Astellas Center for Urological Education has been established to help disseminate new techniques and research findings of the UCI Medical Center faculty. In every possible way, our faculty physicians are dedicated to promoting the wellness of each of their urologic patients throughout Orange County and worldwide.

:: Patient Care Center and Appointments

The Department of Urology is located at the UCI Medical Center. 101 The City Drive in Orange, California For information and appointments, please call (714) 456-7005 Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

Returning and New patients who are being referred by their physicians may request the Urologist directly. Patients without referrals should call about the availability of clinic visits. When calling for an appointment please have the following information available.

  • Name and phone number of referring doctor
  • Diagnosis and pertinent laboratory information
  • Name of Insurance carrier and authorization number, if not self-insured.

We request that the patient needs to obtain the following before their first visit.
Check with your insurance providers to see if you need to obtain authorization for an appointment.

  • Payment in cash should be pre-approved
  • Copy of current laboratory results
  • Copy of pathology report as well as access to the original slides.
  • Copies of all x-ray reports, CT scans, Bone scans, MRI's. Most always the doctor will want the original films also.

How to find the UCI Medical Center: The UCI Medical Center is centrally located in Orange County. The UCIMC is centrally located in Orange County, and located within the triangle formed by the 5 or Santa Ana Freeway, the 22 or Garden Grove Freeway, and The City Drive. Entry to the Medical Center is from the City Drive.

Parking at the UCI Medical Center: The UCIMC is located within the triangle formed by the 5 or Santa Ana Freeway, the 22 or Garden Grove Freeway, and The City Drive. Entry to the Medical Center is from the City Drive. Medical Center drive allows patient drop-offs and short term parking of 20 minutes or less. Dawn Way is the entrance way for patients or families to park for clinics and visiting hours. All day Parking is free for patients if validated by the clinic desk. Otherwise the parking fee for visitors is $ 1 per hour to a maximum of $ 10 dollars per day.

The University of California, Irvine Department of Urology was recently ranked 19th in the United States this year by the US News & World Report, and designated as one of only six American College of Surgeons Education Centers in the United States.
