Dr. David Yee joined the Department of Urology at UC Irvine in 2007. He is a general urologist with special interests in oncology and minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery.
Dr. Yee graduated Phi Beta Kappa as an undergraduate and completed medical school from the University of California, Davis. During medical school, he obtained an MPH from the University of California, Berkeley pursuing his interest in cancer epidemiology and international health. He then completed his residency in urology and is currently doing a one year robotic surgery fellowship at the University of California, Irvine. Next year, he will continue his urologic training as a urologic oncology fellow at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
Dr. Yee has been recognized for his research endeavors and has presented at national and international conferences including the American Urological Association (AUA) and the World Congress of Endourology annual meetings. He has been awarded first place for a resident/fellow essay contest at the 2006 Orange County Urological Society meeting and a poster session at the 2005 Western Section American Urological Association meeting. In 2005, Dr. Yee received the AUA/Praecis Scholar award for outstanding resident.
Dr. Yee is a sixth generation Californian with a strong commitment to serving his community. In 2006, he was selected as an International Volunteers in Urology AUA scholar and traveled to Vietnam as a visiting surgeon.
He has also served as an Asian immigrant community mentor and a coach of the Little Linkers Sacramento youth golf program.
