Policies The University of California, Irvine, College of Medicine (University) has 42 residency training programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, (ACGME). While each program varies to fulfill particular needs and requirements, certain policies and procedures are common to all. The purpose of this document is to provide a statement of University policy applicable to those individuals with patient care responsibilities who have received the degree Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathy, Doctor of Dental Science or an equivalent degree and have been accepted into a program of the University for the purpose of obtaining either the advanced education and/or training leading to eligibility for licensure or recognition in a specialty or subspecialty field, or postdoctoral preparation for an academic career in a clinical field. |
